Biography

Davide Schileo was born on 24th January 1994. After the graduation at “Antonio Scarpa” classic lyceum in Oderzo (TV), in 2013 he enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice and began to practice printing techniques like calcography and xylography. In 2016 he obtained the first level academic diploma in Graphic Arts discussing a graduation thesis in which he studied the anatomy of the pigeon's wing. Beetween 2017 and 2018 he took part in two important collective exhibitions with talented students of the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice: Forme in Mutamento, set up in Marciana National Library, consisted in the exposition of sixteenth-century editions of the Ovid's Metamorphoses with prints made by the young artists; Il Vedere Trasparente, set up in the Natural History Museum of Venice, consisted in an educational path made by the academic students' drawings and studies in the Michelangelo's and Leonardo's style about the anatomic structure of different kind of animals. In 2019 he receives the Master's degree in the same Academy of Fine Arts discussing a graduation thesis regarding the evolution of macabre art beetween Middle Ages and Renaissance times. In that year Davide also wins the Youth Prize at the Sixth Edition of Engraving & Contemporary Graphic Arts' Biennale in Bassano del Grappa and the Youth Prize at the Fourteenth Edition of International Engraving Biennale in Acqui Terme and stood out among the 25 finalists of Foyer International Contemporary Engraving Festival. In 2020 he took part to Mirror Face to Face Italia – Bulgaria, an international exhibition of Italian an Bulgarian engravers which took place in Starà Zagora Art Gallery (Starà Zagora, Bulgaria), Villa Caldogno (Caldogno, Italy) and Petko Zadgorski Art Gallery (Burgas, Bulgaria).
